Yes, it’s true…I’m here…really here! After travels of about 4 days, we’ve arrived in Madagascar and by tonight i will be with my host family! I am truly looking forward to spending time with my host family and to learning to communicate, beginning with very minimal language skills and hopefully seeing that blossom into a grasp of language over the months to come.
I’m sorry I don’t have any time to write now as we’ve got tons to do here, but I wanted to at least say that I’m here and it feels so absolutely right – I couldn’t be more excited! (I’ll probably have internet at least twice in the next couple of months so I will try to write more then.)
A quick note re: the blog. I have, hopefully, if my technological ability doesn’t fail me as it often does, adjusted the blog so that any comments you write won’t show on the blog until I “approve” them. Please still comment, but I needed to do this for many reasons including respect and privacy. Also, if you want to say anything more personal or would rather not respond via blog, please don’t hestitate to email me. I won’t always be able to respond individually, but I’d love to hear from you.
Ok, that’s all for now. Hopefully I’ll be able to start sharing some Malagasy words and phrases with you by my next post!
